The objectives of the course are, to:
- explore experiential education as specific approach of non-formal education
- share and learn about the specific needs of youth with fewer opportunities
- increase participants intercultural awareness and empower them to apply intercultural learning and sensitivity in their projects
- find partners for international cooperation and plan first project steps
- learn about the Youth in Action programme and particularly about the opportunities to fund international youth exchange
What is it about?
The training course (TC) Experiential Inclusion focuses on the method of experiential education to involve young people with fewer social, emotional and educational opportunities in local youth work as well as in international activities.
Practically this means:
- working with a positive approach towards people with fewer opportunities
- getting to know youth workers and outdoor trainers from 7 different countries
- a lot of self-experience as well as learning new skills and methods with an experiential approach.
Who can join?
Everyone that is:
- working with young people
- pro active and both wants to learn and share their knowledge
- interested in non formal and experiential education methods
- able to understand and speak English
The team together with its partner organisations will select the participants based on the criteria mentioned above and taking into consideration geographical, gender and experiential balance among participants.
Why do we organise the Experiential Inclusion trainings course?
We want to connect and inspire active people from Europe. We want to combine experiential and non-formal education methods in the work with disadvantaged people. We provide the participants with tools and methods for attractive and effective ways of training and learning. Participants will share and exchange their expertise and develop together suiting ideas for their local realities and will take fresh knowledge and skills back to their own organisations.

What does it cost me?
This project is funded through the Youth in Action Programme, which means that you will have to cover 30% of your travel costs (board and lodging is covered by the organisers). There are also maximum travel costs per country. That means that you will be asked to book your travel swiftly after you have been accepted to the Experiential Inclusion TC, to keep your travel costs as low as possible. A scan of your travel tickets 5 weeks prior the TC will be a criteria for your participation in the course. The travel costs will be reimbursed after receiving all original tickets after the training took place.
The participation fee for this training ranges between 30 – 100€ depending on your country of residence, if you are in employment and if you are a member of the promoter organisation. We’ll let you know your respective participation when you have been selected for the TC. Participation fee needs to be paid on the 1st day of the program.
