Can Çubukçu (European Solidarity Corps Volunteer, 2023/2024)
“Volunteering for International Young Naturefriends (IYNF) has been an incredibly transformative experience. The team provided countless opportunities for growth, from creating media and supporting daily operations to gaining deep insights into the workings of an NGO. I was able to participate in a variety of IYNF activities, both within their network and beyond, while also having the freedom to contribute in ways that were meaningful to me. The unlimited support I received whenever obstacles arose was so helpful. I am forever grateful for being part of this amazing team and for the incredible year I spent with them. Thank you for everything!”
Amalie Bjørnsen (European Solidarity Corps volunteer, 2022/2023)
“Between my Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and my M.A. in Development, Environment, and Cultural Change, I had a European Solidarity Corps year at IYNF. During my year with IYNF I got to travel to Senegal to attend a youth exchange about climate justice, and travel all around Europe meeting fellow Naturefriends from all around the world along the way. I learned more about right-wing populism, environmentalism, eco-friendly traveling, and much more during my year in Prague!”
Sebastian Salcedo (Intern, 2022/2023)
“During my IYNF internship I was able to learn and comprehend new concepts, methods, instruments and techniques that I was unfamiliar with. The intercultural approach during the activities was also very enriching and nurturing, as it enables you to understand that environment protection and advocacy has many facets and different areas of concern. Meeting other youth who are equally concerned about the serious degradation of the environment was very supportive and relieving. In retrospect, it was a great experience that allowed me to broaden my vision of environmental protection and understand that raising awareness is a crucial task. Thank you, IYNF, for this amazing time.”
Maja Tesic (European Solidarity Corps Volunteer, 2022/2023)
“I got to spend a wonderful year in Prague with the IYNF secretariat office team. It was a year of intense learning and great fun, because I got to work hard for a cause I care about and share this experience with lovely like-minded people. It wasn’t all sunshine and daisies, we encountered many challenges, setbacks and bad vibes, but it all came into an encouraging lesson for the future. Getting to collaborate with partners from Germany, Netherlands, Italy, Senegal, Georgia and many other countries was a real honour and the chance to travel to meet them all is always a plus. Being a Naturefriend is a lifestyle I am proud of and still live today.”
