IYNF ‘Networking Conference 2013 – Ac-tiv-ism redefined!’ took place from May 22nd – 26th, in the lovely town of Kunerad, Rajecké Teplice, northern Slovakia.
Approximately 30 representatives from IYNF Presidium, Secretariat, Member and Partner organizations, volunteers and enthusiastic newcomers, met to discuss practical topics regarding IYNF work and make decisions about possible mutual projects in the future.
Many faces of activism coexisted, while participants had the opportunity to share their knowledge and personal stories; encouraging and proposing new projects and partnerships.
In four days of intense activities, there was also place for webinars – such as with representative of Earth Hour, benjamin Vozzo from Australia or Nick Cooney, renowned American animal rights activist – organization presentations, discussion, group activities and self-reflection. The highlights from the meeting, were the presence of Martin Balluch inspiring everyone with his life story as an activist and also the Open Space and Workshops offered by participants, providing room for brainstorming and discussion of new ideas.
As tradition in IYNF, the event ended in a climate of generosity and solidarity, with the charity evening to help African Naturefriends.
