Aaaaaah. The smell of fresh-fallen snow early in the morning, accompanied by the sound of climbing or ski materials, surrounded by good people, a good view and the prospect of exploring the heavenly-white covered mountains. Who could possibly say no to such an opportunity?
If you are one of those people who is not able to say no, then you’re the one we’re searching!
Our good friends from the Belgian ATB De Natuurvrienden are organizing a winter holiday, and you can take part! If you would like to learn also from this experience, then for a little extra you can follow the Training: Survival in the Snow.
When:
From 6 until 13th of february (both saturdays are arrival and leaving days)
Where:
Bivio, Switzerland (die Perle am Julier/CH)
Content of the week:
Seven days of winter fun (skiing, snowboarding, snow-kiting, a quiz, cooking together, langlaufen, sledging, wandering, making angels, …) in and around a snowed mountain cabin high up the Alps.
For those who are willing there is the possibility to follow a Training that will tackle the topics on ‘How to survive in the snow, how to get to know the danger of avalanches and how to prevent them, how to set up a base camp, how to light a fire in the snow & what is the right way to make long winter hikes on snow rackets and ski’s’.
Winter fun holiday/basic contribution: €300
Training: Extra of €250
The rent of material and skipas is not included.
Transport:
Self-financed: Carpooling, hitchhiking, bus, train, …
Try to be as sustainable as possible!
Conditions:
– For CLIMBers only: Be member of a Naturefriends Organisation
– Good physical conditions
– The desire to go on adventure in the mountains!
– Have an insurance for skiing and mountaineering.
