IYNF ‘Border-free solidarity’ activities

 

IYNF is seeking experienced facilitators & trainers for our international activities of 2017, which include 2 seminars and 1 conference.

 

Short description of the project “Border-free solidarity”

 

Today’s Europe is facing many challenges that have a direct effect on youth and on the members of our organization. As a youth organization with strong roots in the promotion of cultural understanding, peace and intercultural contact and dialogue between youngsters living on the European continent, we are concerned about the current migration-related crisis in Europe and the way it’s been approached. That is why in 2017, we will be committed to promoting international cooperation and qualitative youth work, focused on solidarity, socio-cultural diversity, young migrants, and refugees.

 

 The overall aims of our project are:

  • To support the capacity building of the network and youth agents in matters of equity, social inclusion, and intercultural dialogue, with focus on work with young migrants and refugees;
  • To promote methodologies for the empowerment of young people for social change;
  • To stimulate the exchange of best practices and know-how for working with youth on the topics of intercultural dialogue, equity and social justice, migration and international cooperation;
  • To offer educational opportunities within the scope of Non-Formal Education (NFE);

 

The “Border-free solidarity” project is divided into three main activities:

  • 20-25 June – Seminar “Get on Board”, Hungary – The first meeting will focus on networking and sharing knowledge about the current refugee crisis in different countries.
  • 8-14 August – Seminar “Be Border-free”, Germany – This activity is meant to share best practices related to working with youth in the topics of intercultural dialogue, equity and social justice in connection with migrants and refugees.
  • 14-19 November – Conference “Raise your voice!”, Netherlands – In the last project of 2017, we will channel the outcomes of the previous activities and develop a follow-up project ideas.
 

What we look for

 

A trainer/facilitator fluent in English and with experience in the fields of non-formal and intercultural education, and willing to work according to the IYNF values of solidarity, equality, sustainability, respect and love and care for nature.

The 3 activities of “Border-free Solidarity” follow a logical and progressive order and were designed so that the knowledge is accumulated and built upon, therefore we prefer candidates with availability to lead at least 2 of the 3 activities.

Selected trainers will work in a team of 3 trainers/facilitators and 2 organizers.

 

You are welcome to apply if you have at least 2 years experience with:

  • non-formal education
  • intercultural learning
  • running international youth activities
  • facilitating groups
  • working in an intercultural team

 

You have extensive educational expertise in one of these fields:

  • human rights
  • migrants, refugees and/or minorities;
  • activism

 

Preparation and follow-up responsibilities for the trainer:

 

  • Join preparatory Skype meetings
  • Help in the creation of the detailed activity program
  • Prepare methodology for sessions in advance
  • Attend 2-3 days prep team meetings, according to the activity
  • Attend preparatory meeting 1 day before the start of the projects
  • Attend the whole duration of the projects
  • Hold evaluation with the trainers and preparatory team
  • Write the activity report

 


Conditions & Deadline

 

IYNF offers a trainer’s fee per day of work and covers all the costs related to the projects, including travels, food, and accommodation.
