Having successfully closed the IYNF Year of Sustainability we are happy to announce that 2013 will be IYNF Year of Action for Change.
During this year we will explore various modes and ways of active participation, campaigning and activism and we will look for local and global solutions to international and local problems. IYNF will organize several international activities to empower and inspire young people to take up action for change for their communities and the world.
To launch the Year of Action for Change we are welcoming all Young Naturefriends to take part in a contest with very attractive prizes sponsored by Austrian Young Naturefriends.
We are asking you to share your pledges for the year of action for change.
How to participate?
Send us a photograph with your pledge before 20th January to the e-mail addressewa@iynf.org stating what do you want to do to help your community, resolve global and local problems, participate actively in the society, and bring about the change.
Maybe you will organize a soup kitchen or lobby with your local supermarket to stop food waste. Maybe you will organize an action to clean up a local park or start a community garden. Maybe you plan to volunteer with a charity organization or go shopping for your elderly neighbour. Maybe you are going to launch an European’s Citizen Initative to prevent some burning social problem or you plan to speak at the UN Climate Change Conference to urge world leaders to cut their country’s emmissions.
It may be big or small, it may be local or global: every action that you make (or don’t make) matters!
The prizes: you can win a place in any (chosen by yourself) training offered byAustrian Young Naturefriends Outdoor Academy, These prizes are worth as much as 280 EUR. The participants need to be able to speak basic German and will have to cover their own travel cost.
From experiential education, trend sports, outdoor education to media work, from slacklining to geocaching – these trainings are meant for everybody who wants to offer attractive activities to youth – youth workers, outdoor sport instructors or local naturefriends. In this diverse program everybody can find something interesting and inspiring. You can browse the entire brochure by clicking here.
