When and where
The 24th Conference Of the Parties organised by the UNFCCC (United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change) is set for the 3rd to 14th of December 2018 in Katowice. International Naturefriends call for participants to contribute together to the action for climate justice. And you have the chance to be there!
UN Climate Summit COP24
This is the third time that Poland will be hosting the Conference and this year’s location, Katowice, is quite unique for a Convention on Climate Change, taking into consideration that it still contributes significantly to Poland’s air pollution. It is also home to 82 000 jobs related to the mining industry which has recently been the recipient of substantial financial aid from the Polish government. 
The aim of the gathering during the two weeks is to convene and discuss with an international group of people from various fields of work, such as environmentalism, politics, and human rights, the issues of climate change and the actions we can carry out in able to combat it. It will be an excellent chance to network and get to know 20 000 passionate people from about 190 countries. The ultimate goal of this year’s COP is to adopt a package of decisions which will ensure the full implementation of the Paris Agreement.
What will you do as a International Naturefriends delegate?
? Participate in different action groups from YOUNGO (Youth NGOs https://youthclimatemovement.wordpress.com/youngo/)
? Focus on “Sustainable jobs” and “Action for Climate Empowerment”
? Network with other delegates
? Support International Naturefriends delegates at their activities
? Get actively involved in discussions and workshops
What will you pay?
IYNF will organise and cover accommodation costs up to 500 euros. All other costs (travel and food, and potentially the surplus for the accommodation calculated per capita) has to be covered by the delegate.
