Youth Leader Qualification course
Every Tuesday and Thursday (May 19 – June 18, 2020)
If you want to learn the pedagogical basics of group leading, get to know the different types of leadership and you are interested in learning together with other people from all over the world, you are welcome to join this online youth leader course.
What and how?
The course will consist of 30 hours plus an evaluation after the practical phase, so in total 40 hours. It will take place twice a week, Tuesday and Thursday (17:00 – 20:00 CET) from the 19 of May until the 18th of June 18, 2020 (duration of 5 weeks). At the end of the course, you will receive a certificate as proof of participation and the developed skills. The training course will be held in English.
The course will cover the following topics plus one or two elective topics that will be introduced in the first session:
- Tasks and responsibilities of a youth leader (leadership skills)
- Objectives, tasks and methods of youth work
- The legal and organisational basis
- Protection of children and young people
- Group dynamics and phases
- Communication and conflict resolution
- Participation
- Diversity
- Emergency situations
Who?
The main target group of the activity are young people and youth workers.
